Dog Car Seat Cover for Ram 1500 — CozyRider 2.0 Hard-Bottom Back Seat Protector
Built for truck owners with big dogs. If you drive a Ram 1500 and your dog rides in the back, you already know the problem: standard fabric covers sag into the footwell, slide around on every turn, and leave your bench seat covered in fur and muddy paw prints. The CozyRider 2.0 fixes all of that with a rigid hard-bottom platform that turns your Ram's rear bench into a flat, stable bed your dog can actually stretch out on.
Why a Hard-Bottom Cover Beats a Hammock in a Ram 1500
Most dog seat covers on the market are soft hammocks. They work okay in a small sedan, but in a full-size truck they have two real weaknesses:
- They sag into the gap. A Ram 1500's bench sits high with a deep footwell. Soft covers droop into that space, and your dog ends up sliding down into a pocket instead of lying flat.
- They bounce on rough roads. Trucks ride stiffer than cars. Every pothole and gravel road sends a fabric hammock bouncing, which makes anxious dogs even more anxious.
The CozyRider 2.0 uses removable hard-bottom panels that sit across the whole bench and stay flat no matter how rough the drive gets. Your dog gets a solid, level surface — closer to a real bed than a sling. For senior dogs, large breeds, or pups that get carsick, that stability makes a real difference.
If you're still weighing the two designs, our full hard bottom vs hammock comparison breaks down the real test data on sag, drift, and why tension-based covers fail under big dogs.
✅ Does It Fit a Ram 1500?
Yes — the CozyRider 2.0 fits both Ram 1500 Quad Cab and Crew Cab back seats.
The cover measures 51.2" wide × 24.6" deep, which sits cleanly across the Ram 1500 rear bench (rear hip room ~63", seat depth ~21"). The extra depth means it fully covers the seat bottom with room to tuck down, and the side flaps protect your door panels.
A few honest notes so you order the right setup:
- Crew Cab has the most room (45.2" of rear legroom), so your dog gets the most space to stretch out.
- Quad Cab fits great too — just slightly less legroom (35.6").
- If your Ram has the 40/20/40 split bench, the cover lays right over it. If you have rear bucket seats on a higher trim, a single-piece cover won't seal the gap between the two seats — a bench is the ideal fit.
Not sure which cab you have? Measure the seat bottom from the backrest to the front edge. Anything around 19–22" is a perfect match.
💪 Heavy-Duty Support — Holds Up to 400 lbs / 182 kg
Big dog? No problem. The reinforced hard-bottom panels support up to 400 lbs without sagging or collapsing, so even the largest breeds get a sturdy, secure surface. Sudden brake or sharp turn, your dog stays put instead of sliding off the seat.
- Supports up to 400 lbs without bottoming out
- Keeps your dog secure during hard stops and turns
- A reliable, level platform for senior and large-breed dogs
💧 6-Layer Pro-Shield Construction — 100% Waterproof & Non-Slip
We built the CozyRider 2.0 to survive everything a truck dog throws at it:
- 600D Oxford exterior — scratch, claw, and wear-resistant
- TPU waterproof coating — a 100% leak-proof barrier that stops spills and accidents before they reach your seat
- Thick polyester padding — a cushioned, bed-like feel
- Shock-absorbing foam — soaks up vibration on rough roads
- Hard-bottom panels — the rigid core that keeps it flat
- Non-slip rubber backing — grips both leather and cloth Ram interiors so it never shifts
Mud, drool, shedding, the occasional accident — wipe it down or toss the cover in the wash and it's good to go.
🛡️ Built-In Door & Side Protection
Integrated side flaps cover your Ram 1500's door panels, so your dog can hang out by an open window without scratching the upholstery or leaving slobber on the plastic. Your interior stays in showroom condition.
🔒 Seat Belt & Safety Ready
- Velcro openings for seat belt receptacles and child car-seat anchors
- 2 adjustable safety belt attachments to tether your dog and keep them secure
- Full coverage that still keeps your buckles accessible

⚠️ Important Safety & Care Info
Please read before first use to get the longest life from your CozyRider 2.0 and keep your dog safe:
- Heated seats: Don't use the cover with heated seats turned on — excess heat can affect the non-slip backing over time.
- Not chew-proof: The 600D Oxford is highly scratch-resistant but not chew-proof. We don't recommend it for aggressively destructive dogs.
- Entry & exit on a tall truck: Because the Ram 1500 sits high and the hard bottom raises the seating surface slightly, your dog has a taller jump in and out. Depending on your dog's age, size, and joints, give them a hand getting up and down to prevent injury — a pet ramp or step helps.
- Supervision: Never leave your dog in the vehicle unsupervised, especially in extreme heat or cold.
❓ Ram 1500 Dog Seat Cover — FAQ
Will the CozyRider 2.0 fit my Ram 1500? Yes. It fits both Quad Cab and Crew Cab rear bench seats. At 51.2" × 24.6" it covers the full seat bottom with room to spare. If you have rear bucket seats instead of a bench, a single-piece cover won't seal the center gap. Want to know more about how a rigid platform compares to a soft sling? See why hard bottom beats a hammock for large dogs.
Does it fit both Quad Cab and Crew Cab? Yes, both. Crew Cab gives your dog more legroom (45.2" vs 35.6"), but the cover installs the same way in either cab.
How much weight can it hold? Up to 400 lbs (182 kg). The hard-bottom panels stay flat and won't sag, even for large breeds.
Is it safe for leather seats? Yes. The non-slip rubber backing grips both leather and cloth without sliding, and the waterproof TPU layer protects the seat underneath from spills and accidents.
Can my dog still use a seat belt? Yes. There are Velcro openings for the seat belt receptacles, plus 2 adjustable tethers to clip your dog in.
Will it cover the door panels? Yes. Built-in side flaps protect the door panels from scratches and slobber while still letting your dog enjoy an open window.
Can I use it with heated seats? We recommend turning heated seats off while the cover is installed, since prolonged heat can wear down the non-slip backing.
How do I clean it? Slide out the hard panels, then hose it off, wipe it down, or machine wash on a cold cycle and air dry.
